Nikon D300 Drama. What now?

Nikon DRAMA, it could only be because it's ME. I am WRITING IN CAPS.

MY CAMERA!  BACK FROM THE REPAIR-PLACE!  WOOT WOOT!  I WAS SO EXCITED!

That makes sense, sure.  I send the camera to be REPAIRED, and it's returned, MONTHS later, with a slip that says, "returned unrepaired."  That is exactly right.  Right?  Wait, WHAT?  

Mr. called the repair company, they say "we will check on that and get back to you tomorrow."

<cricket cricket> NO response, for weeks. <cricket cricket>

YOU ARE NEVER GOING TO BELIEVE THIS.

We got through to the warranty company -- the camera was not serviced because it is "NOT A NIKON PRODUCT, so sorry." 

Mr. is on the phone with NikonUSA right now -

"Your camera isn't from the US.  So sorry!  We can't help you."

My camera was apparently purchased overseas and not from a US source. 

THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS.    

Mr. paid $3K for a package deal two years ago, and included an extended insurance plan.  This was my birthday present. I have taken HOW MANY PHOTOS? 

The camera shop that sold the product, is NO LONGER IN BUSINESS, because it was SHUT DOWN by the New York State Attorney General.

Note, dead website:

• Now, I have a broken actual NIKON D300 camera and two lenses that do not work, purchased by the company who sold it to us from another country?
• I have receipts, emails and such from the store which is no longer in business.
  
• I have a "warranty" bought and paid for. 
• But, it cannot be fixed, because it's an import.

Whoopee.

There is no way that Mr., who searched endlessly for camera FOR ME, would have known that this product was not from the US.  I never once considered it, once I opened the package!  The paper work is in English first, as most electronics are.

I am leaving the crime scene intact, because, there ARE three types of hair.  Two synthetic, one real.  This crime occurred while I was unclogging a toilet from a weekend of birthday-sleepover-fun.  She was cutting paper, very nicely.

My cat is a whore who produces famous babies.

My indoor cat got out several months ago, got gang-banged and came home knocked up.  (Save me the "spay and neuter" speech, I know.  I will, personally.)

The kittens were born at the beginning of August, and were cuter than life itself to keep us from flushing them down the toilet.  At the same time, I fell onto a "Send Us Your Cat Photo" button somewhereprobablyonFacebookontheinternet.  I entered a very newly born kitten photo to the contest.

When I was away at a conference, I received an email, "Your cat has been chosen!" to be featured on the website for the contest.  I squee'd, and more.  

Later, after getting home a week or three, another email, "Your cat may be chosen to be featured in a FANCY FEAST commercial!"  I squee'd more.  Mama kitty ain't even never had no Fancy Feast!  That is for fancy cats, my cat isn't fancy!  

I sent back the photo release and scrolled through my DVR to record today's episode of The View, because Mama's cat's not-fancy-baby might have his television debut!  I am a dork.  

It's funny too, because this cat already has an ego, and a new owner.  The other babies?  Not so much.  

He knows he's fancy.

I think I made a mistake in naming this blog.  While I am domestic by situation, I'm not domestic.  Domestic is a label for cat.  I may have to alter that.   I bought this URL months and months ago, perhaps the one I wanted was unavailable?  Domestic doesn't cut it.  ;)

Domestic. Mama.

And by that I mean, WTFOMGANOTHERBLOG?  Yes, it sure is. 

I do not remember if I ever officially announced "Domestic Mama" before, but she's been sitting here dormant, with product to review, like a years supply of Aquafresh Toothpaste!  (You think I am kidding?)

Domestic Mama is meant for the not as domestic, mama, or the not-the-mama. 

Personally, I have never been a great "SAHM." 

But, I am a "stay at home mother."  It's never really been my choice, I'm not a at-home type. 

I fail at much of the job description.  I would be much better at working at a Big Girl Job.

Cooking?  Eh.  Sometimes I do.  Sometimes I don't.  Many times my kids are eating oatmeal.

Cleaning, sometimes I do, most of the time I do to excess, but I have no organizational skills.

Keeping of the husband?  He's still here.  Today. 

I have always wanted to branch out from my weight-loss blogs and write more about domestic tranquility and baking cookies, because my life is full of peace, quiet and carbs.   ;)  However, carbs are what keep me blogging about weight loss.  <grin>

So, welcome!  My goal at Domestic Mama, is to bring you product reviews with the house and family in mind.  I am an avid consumer, and I am very honest, straight-forward and critical of products and services.

Elements Therapeutic Massage in Plymouth, Massachusetts

The massage - fine.

HOWEVER.

While there, I was tempted coerced, really... the woman was adamant... into signing up for auto-debit for six months worth of services, for a Cheaper Price that day.  And, $59 was a lot better to me than $79.  I never went back.   Among the things that were important, I could not validate the cost of massages.

I never gave it another thought, in fact after paying for that session?  I never thought about it again until today.

When the manager of this location called my house to collect on services not rendered.  She wants payment for November, December and January plus a cancellation fee.  Thanks.  I was calmly telling her that I truly did not plan to go back - in fact that bank account is not in service - and no we do not have a credit card to pay her, we're BROKE, thanks!

She started amplifying.  I asked her to speak with my husband, as it was his personal debit card that I used for that massage.  She claimed fraud, because?  I used his debit card.  

That and, she wants her money, TODAY.  NOW.  LIKE IN, NOW.  BECAUSE I HAD FRAUD-ED HER SALON OF ALL THIS MONEY AND OMG I AM A LOSER.

That's lovely, but I don't have any money.  And, as soon as she began escalating on my husband's ear, it got Very Loud.  

There was yelling.  There was YELLING.  

She pulled the loser card, telling Bob, "I CAN TELL WHAT KIND OF PERSON YOU ARE!"  And legal threats. And you suck.  And... I leave the room.

Now, please to know she's in a MASSAGE studio, with aromatherapy and candles.  SCREAMING at Bob.

I'm on this side adding up the lost revenue on her side because I did not go back - "Three massages that I never got, and a cancellation fee? That's what, $200 total, MAYBE?"  (And, no I don't have it.)

Then, considering that I owe thousands and thousands more than THAT -- I am dumbfounded by her intensity.  I have never, ever heard this type of bill collection before.

Let me repeat how much DEBT I have/had vs. how much "DEBT" this phone call was regarding.

$200? vs. youcannotpossiblyimagine.  Okay?

I have a new appreciation for the collectors who have been nice to us.

State of Massachusetts Debt Collection Law:

The creditor communicates with the alleged debtor in such a manner as to harass or embarrass the alleged debtor, including, but not limited to communication at an unreasonable hour, with unreasonable frequency, by threats of violence, by use of offensive language, or by threats of any action which the creditor in the usual course of business does not in fact take.

This, is wholly embarrassing.  Posting it, very.  And what's worse, is that we're one degree of Facebook separated from this woman, and it could have been fixed IMMEDIATELY and WITHOUT DRAMA, but she didn't allow for that.

Update:  And, you won't believe this.  O-o  Bob called the salon back to leave a message.  The woman called back and said, AND I QUOTE  because it's unbelievable:  

"That's ok Robert, I will have the owner call.  I don't have the time to deal with low lives which is what you and your wife obviously are."
